Shawn is an advisor, board member and investor with several cutting-edge companies. From Jan 2008 to June 2013 Shawn was Sr. VP - Director of Business Development for Seven Seas Water Corporation. From Jan 2003 through May 2007 Shawn was Sr. VP of Marketing & Sales for Energy Recovery Incorporated. Shawn enjoyed a 12 year career at Ionics Incorporated from 1990 to 2002. From 1998 to 2002 Shawn as General Sales Manager, from 1994 to 1998 as Manager of International Operations and from 1990 to 1994 when he enjoyed positions as Product Manager, Process Design, Development Engineer and in R&D. Shawn has served on the board of directors of the CARIBDA since 2009 and IDA since 2011. He is currently President of CaribDA. He founded the CaribDA Humanitarian Committee and Young Leaders Program and has chaired, served on panels, as well as written and presented numerous papers in industry conferences including: WIM, SATIS, IRENA, WME, OzWater, GCWDA, EDS, ALADR, CWWA, CBWMP, ACWA, AEDyR and has published in leading industry publications. Monica Boodhan is a Senior Instructor (Physics) at the University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) and a PhD candidate at the University of the West Indies (UWI). With nine years of experience in Desalination and ten in Renewable Energy, her specialization is Solar Distillation. Monica received her MPhil and BSc in Physics from the UWI. As project manager for the EU-funded DIREKT project, she served as a trainer in Solar Energy at various workshops across the Caribbean and Bangladesh. Monica completed numerous training courses in the fields of Renewable Energy, Desalination, Water Treatment, GIS, Smart Grids and other courses related to Research, Teaching and Data Modelling. Monica is currently a Director of the CaribDA; co-chair of the Young Leaders Programme (YLP) and a member of the Publications and Humanitarian Committees. Additionally, she is the Regional Representative for Latin America and the Caribbean for the International Desalination Associations YLP.

He has comprehensive, hands-on experience on a variety of water and wastewater plant facilities in the Caribbean, Bahamas and Bermuda. In his present capacity as the SVP of Global Business Development for Seven Seas Water, he works in variety of different desalination markets throughout the world. Although he lived from 1987 to 2003 in the British Virgin Islands, he currently resides in Tampa, Florida, the corporate headquarters of Seven Seas Water Corporation. Mario holds a degree in diesel technology from Wyoming Technical Institute.

John Thompson is a qualified engineer from the U.K. He has made the Caribbean his home for the last 20 years having previously been intermittently in the region since 1986. He holds chartered engineer status in the United Kingdom and fellow status with the U.K. based Institution of Mechanical Engineers and U.K. based Energy Institute. He is also a registered engineer in Europe and Trinidad & Tobago with over thirty years experience of contracts in the process industry including water treatment. His technical skills are supplemented by a postgraduate degree in Business Management from Cranfield University, which was gained through the grant of an engineering fellowship by the Engineering Industry Training Board in the UK. John joined the Desalination Company of Trinidad & Tobago Limited (Desalcott) after nearly twenty years with George Wimpey and successor companies (the latest being Carillion) where as Projects Director he ran their process, energy and industrial sector work in the Caribbean. This included involvement in the water sector through the Severn Trent/Carillion joint venture agreement for the interim operation of the Water and Sewerage Authority in Trinidad & Tobago also through process plant feedwater treatment by ion exchange and reverse osmosis. He previously worked for UK engineering company, John Brown Engineers and Constructors Ltd, having started his career, initially as an undergraduate apprentice, with Rolls-Royce. Following being Project Director for Desalcott during construction of the Point Lisas Desalination Plant, John was confirmed as General Manager in 2002 and continues in this position to date with the Plant currently undergoing a major expansion.
